The HID iCLASS 206x Tag offers a convenient solution to upgrade a plastic ID badge to an iCLASS contactless smart card credential. By attaching the small, circular iCLASS Tag to an existing card, whether using Prox, mag stripe, or barium ferrite technology, users can effortlessly transition to a more secure access control system based on smart card technology. The iCLASS 206x Tag can also be affixed to any non-metallic device, instantly transforming it into a contactless smart card.
iCLASS technology was purposefully designed to enhance access control by providing greater power, versatility, and security. Operating at 13.56 MHz, iCLASS read/write contactless smart card technology ensures compatibility across various applications, including access control, network log-on security, cashless vending, time and attendance, event management, and biometric identification.
With iCLASS technology, high levels of security are ensured through mutual authentication between the card and reader, encrypted data transfer, and 64-bit diversified keys for read/write capabilities. The secure separation of files enables the support of multiple applications and facilitates future growth.
