Brivo Control Panels:
ACS6000, ACS300 & ACS100
Every Brivo access control system is built around a control panel — the hardware hub that communicates with readers, locks, inputs and the Brivo cloud. This page is your full selection guide: specifications, door counts, reader support, and the right panel for your building. Designed, sized and installed by Ontario's authorized Brivo dealer — Spotter Security.
The Hub of Every Brivo Access Control System
A Brivo control panel is the intelligent controller that sits in your telecom or electrical room and manages every door in your access control system. It verifies credentials, sends unlock commands to the lock, logs every event, and stays in constant sync with the Brivo cloud platform.
Brivo offers a full hardware lineup so that every building — from a single-door clinic to a 30-door enterprise campus — runs on purpose-built hardware rather than over-provisioned or underpowered equipment. The lineup covers three core tiers: the ACS6000 / ACS6100 Enterprise Series for large multi-door sites, the ACS300 Mid-Tier Series for small-to-medium commercial deployments, and the ACS100 Entry-Level Series for single-door installations.
Every panel is cloud-managed, natively IP-connected, and supports OSDP, Wiegand, and BLE mobile credentials — so you can mix card, fob, PIN and Brivo Mobile Pass credentials at the same door. As a certified Brivo reseller, Spotter Security sizes the right panel for your site, installs it to code, configures the cloud, and stays on as your single point of support.

ACS6000 & ACS6100 — Enterprise Control Panels
Brivo's flagship hardware for multi-door, multi-site deployments. One panel architecture scales from 4 to 30 doors per chassis, supporting up to 100,000 cardholders — ideal for corporate HQs, healthcare campuses, schools, industrial facilities and multi-tenant buildings.
ACS6000 / ACS6100 Series
Model codes: B-ACS6000-MBE · B-ACS6100R-E · B-ACS6100L-E
The ACS6000/ACS6100 is a native IP, modular multi-door controller built on a main controller board plus expansion door and I/O boards connected via CAN bus. One chassis handles up to 4 readers out of the box; with expansion, a single panel supports up to 30 doors and 14 expansion boards. The ACS6100 is the next-generation revision — the door and I/O boards are half the size of the original ACS6000 boards, doubling density in tight telecom closets, while remaining fully compatible with existing ACS6000 main boards via retrofit adapter plate.
Best for: Corporate offices with 5+ doors, healthcare and education campuses, industrial facilities, and any site planning to scale beyond 2 doors or connect Eagle Eye Networks cameras to door events. See the official ACS6100 data sheet for complete technical details.
ACS300 — Compact Two-Door Controller
The sweet spot for the majority of Canadian small-to-medium commercial buildings — a compact, native Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled controller that runs up to 2 doors with enterprise-grade encryption.
ACS300 Series
Model codes: ACS300-E (Ethernet) · ACS300-A (Wi-Fi/Cellular)
The ACS300 is Brivo's next-generation compact controller. It handles one or two readers on-board in a small-footprint enclosure — ideal for retail, clinics, restaurants, small offices, and multi-tenant suites that only need a few controlled doors but want the same cloud-first experience as an enterprise Brivo deployment. Wi-Fi is native (no separate access point required), and BLE means it's ready for Brivo Mobile Pass out of the box.
Best for: Retail stores, dental and medical clinics, small offices, restaurants, tech startups, and tenant suites in commercial buildings. Also a popular choice for construction site trailers where Wi-Fi connectivity matters. Learn more on the Brivo ACS300 resources page.
ACS100 — All-in-One Single Door Panel
The simplest, lowest-cost path to cloud access control in Canada. Reader and controller combined into a single recessed unit — perfect for a single high-value door like a server room, pharmacy or executive office.
ACS100 Series
Combined reader + controller · OSDP · Recessed mount
The ACS100 combines a multi-credential reader with a full access control panel in a single device. It's an OSDP-compatible, recessed-mount, Ethernet controller that supports two readers for in/out or anti-passback control on a single door. No separate controller box in a telecom closet — the ACS100 lives at the door itself. That means fewer parts to install, lower labour cost, and a cleaner hardware profile.
Best for: Server rooms, IT closets, pharmacy or medication storage, executive offices, single-door retail back rooms, and any scenario where only one door needs cloud access control and the cost of a separate controller isn't justified. Review Brivo's full ACS100 data sheet for complete specs.

What's the difference between the ACS6000 and ACS6100?
The ACS6100 is the next-generation revision of the ACS6000. The main controller board is unchanged and fully cross-compatible, but the door and I/O expansion boards are half the physical size, which effectively doubles the door density you can fit in a tight telecom closet. The ACS6100 also adds automatic Wiegand/OSDP detection and over-the-air firmware updates for OSDP readers. Existing ACS6000 installations can retrofit to ACS6100 boards using Brivo's adapter plate.
How many doors can one Brivo panel handle?
It depends on the panel tier. The ACS100 controls 1 door (with optional in/out reader). The ACS300 handles up to 2 doors. The ACS6000/ACS6100 panels ship with 4 reader ports on board and scale up to 30 doors per panel via up to 14 expansion boards on the CAN bus. If your site has more than 30 doors, we deploy multiple enterprise panels under the same cloud account.
Do Brivo panels work if the internet goes down?
Yes. All Brivo control panels store cardholder data and schedules locally. If the internet connection drops, doors continue to unlock normally for authorized users, and events are buffered in the panel. When connectivity is restored, the panel syncs every buffered event to the Brivo cloud automatically. This is covered in more depth in our cloud access control guide.
Can I mix Brivo panel tiers on one site?
Absolutely — and we often recommend it. A typical mixed deployment might use an ACS6100 in the main electrical room for the ten most-travelled doors, an ACS300 on the other side of the building for two loading-dock doors connected by Wi-Fi, and an ACS100 on a lone server-room door. All panels report to the same Brivo cloud account, so admins see and manage everything from one portal.
Are Brivo panels compatible with third-party readers?
Yes. Brivo panels support any OSDP Secure Channel reader or Wiegand reader transmitting up to 255-bit data. That covers the major brands — HID, Allegion, ASSA ABLOY, Identiv, AWID, WaveLynx and more. Spotter Security recommends OSDP wherever possible because it encrypts reader-to-panel communication and protects against skimming attacks. You can also use Brivo Mobile Pass on the same reader as physical cards during a phased migration.
How much does a Brivo control panel cost in Canada?
Hardware cost ranges for a fully installed door in Ontario are roughly: $800–$1,200 for ACS100, $1,200–$1,800 for ACS300, and $1,500–$2,400 for ACS6000/6100 per door. These include the panel share, reader, lock hardware, cabling and installation labour. Brivo cloud subscription is separate and starts around $250/month per site, which covers unlimited mobile credentials, cloud hosting, firmware updates and standard support. Contact us for a precise quote.
Can I migrate my existing access control to Brivo panels?
Yes — and it's a common project for us. Spotter Security migrates sites from legacy Kantech, HID Edge, Avigilon, Genetec, S2 and other platforms to Brivo in phases. Typically we replace the old controller with a Brivo panel while keeping your existing locks, REX and door-contact wiring; cards and fobs can often be imported into Brivo so users don't need reissued credentials on day one. See our Brivo migration guide for the full process.
Is PoE supported on Brivo control panels?
Yes on the ACS100 — it powers from standard Ethernet PoE, which is ideal for retrofit projects because one cable runs both network and power to the door. The ACS300 and ACS6000/6100 use dedicated low-voltage power supplies (typically 12V or 24V DC) because they drive more readers, strikes and maglocks than PoE can deliver. Our installers size the power supply, battery backup and wiring gauge as part of the install.
